Chen, Peng Cheng - Biography
PengCheng Chen is a freelance author and researcher from Fujian, China. Head instructor of Southern Crane Kungfu, Darren Trottman, met PengCheng Chen on a kungfu study trip to China in 2001. They have remained close friends since then, which has culminated in a strong working relationship today.
PengCheng Chen is Head Researcher for Southern Crane Kungfu, providing visitors to our site with access to a wealth of information. He is also a regular contributor to various martial arts publications, including Kungfu Tai Chi Magazine.
Over the past four years PengCheng Chen has devoted himself to spreading the word of traditional Chinese Southern Boxing Kungfu to the West. PengCheng Chen regularly travels throughout Fujian Province in his quest to learn more about the region’s martial history. He has met many celebrated kungfu masters in the area and interviewed them in depth about their art.
As a kungfu fan, he is fascinated with the rich cultural heritage behind Chinese martial arts, which provides the main drive for his prolific writing. PengCheng Chen’s aim has been to demystify the art of each Chinese Southern Boxing system through his articles. He sees his work as creating a bridge, linking China with the outside world. As Southern Crane Kungfu’s Head Researcher, PengCheng is set to continue exposing the art of Kungfu.
